Take A Traditional Approach With Almond Wedding Favors

Almond wedding favors are a traditional gift from the couple to a wedding guest that goes back centuries. They're a versatile gift as you can easily match your wedding theme or colors, either with the sugared section of the almonds or with the box or bag that contains them. They're also reasonably cheap and easy to get hold of, making them one of the most popular wedding favors to choose.

Back in the day, sugar and almonds were only enjoyed by the ultra rich, so a gift of five almonds was a rare and special gift to the wedding guests. Since then, the tradition has continued with the five almonds representing fertility, longevity, wealth, health and happiness, which of course, every newly married couple desires.

In light of this, couples still choose almond favors over any other type of favor. To make your gift a little more individual, you can really go to town with the containers as seen in some of the examples below.

Colored almond wedding favors

You can literally get sugared almonds in a variety of colors, but mainly they come in pastel colors and white. If you want to match the favors to your wedding colors, then it's best to do it through the container (see below).

In terms of quantities, you'll generally get 500 almonds for 5lb in weight and the price will vary depending on the color you choose and the quality. Premium sugared almonds are more expensive as there is less sugared coating and a larger almond in each one - perfect for the nut lover.
