Celtic Wedding Invitations"With my Irish ancestry, I really wanted to have a Celtic theme."These Celtic wedding invitations are ideal for a couple with a Scottish or Irish heritage. With a typical hand script font and intricate serpent knot, they typify Celtic design. The serpent traditionally represents rebirth to your new life with your partner. ![]() The design has been laid out to be as simple as possible so the focus is on the intricate Celtic knot. The font is a traditional Celtic hand script creating authenticity. This invitation is a free template that comes in MS Word, so you can easily print it out at home or work. I've printed this example out on cream card stock for more oldy-worldy feel. You can however print it out on any coloured card stock, so feel free to try out different colours. What you'll need:
With this invitation you literally amend the wording and print it out. It's as simple as that. The template comes in A5 (14.8cm x 21.0cm) or 5 1/2 x 8 inches and there's a matching thank you card too. I’d recommend printing it out on ‘smooth’ card as this will give the best finish. Try to use a heavy weight card if possible, ideally the maximum that will go through your printer. For the cheapest solution, print these Celtic wedding invitations on your home computer. If you don’t want to use all your ink up, then print out one on good quality paper and get a copy shop to print out or copy the invites on to your chosen card. They’ll also be able to trim them to size (if necessary) and give a professional finish (at a cost though). Warning! This invitation design uses some special fonts. So in order to view the invite on your computer, you'll need to download these. The main font used for the text is called Celtic Hand and is downloadable for free for your personal use. The Celtic illustration is a dingbat, which behaves like a special font. In order to see this when you download the template, you'll also need to download it. The dingbat is called Celtic Frames Dingbat. It's from Urban Fonts and is free for your personal use as well. If you don’t know how to add a font to your computer, then follow these instructions (for Windows users only). Dingbats can be added in exactly the same way as a font. These Celtic wedding invitations have been created in Microsoft Word 97-2003, so you’ll need this package to read and amend the invite. There's no need for a separate insert with these wedding invitations. All the information is contained in the main body of text, however, you could include maps, details about accommodation and transport in the envelope with the invite too.
