Before you start! Buy your bits of paper and do a trial run. That way you can make sure that you’re happy with the invitation. You don’t have to create it exactly as I have. You could use different coloured sequins, less sequins or different coloured font and ribbon. For the text on the vellum insert, I’ve used a special font called ASL Script, which is free for personal use. You’ll need to download it from www.freefonts.com. If you don’t know how to do this, then follow these instructions for adding a font to your computer (for windows users only). If you don’t do this, then you won’t be able to see the text on your computer. You can download the A5 template for this insert here, but you'll need the username and password that you get when you subscribe to the newsletter. You can subscribe below. The insert is an A4 sheet with two inserts on it, created in MS Word. They’re sized slightly smaller than A5, so sit well on or inside an A5 wedding invitation (finished size). You will need to amend the text so that it corresponds to the details of your wedding. Once printed out, you’ll need to cut it to size following the trim lines.
Tips: • Do a trial run to find the card and vellum paper you like • Try buying an economy or bumper pack of card blanks and envelopes. You can then cut these in half to make the one page card! • Print out the vellum section using the draft or fast setting on your printer. If that doesn’t quite look strong enough, use the standard setting. Be careful though, it will take longer to dry
