Crafty Ideas For Handmade Wedding Favors

If you like to craft, handmade wedding favors can be perfect for you. Not only will they add a touch of personality to your wedding, but they can also save you some money too. Besides that, having something to keep you busy in the weeks before your wedding can be a stress reliever if you really enjoy this type of thing. Here are several crafty DIY wedding favor ideas that you might try.

Handmade soaps

Unless you have some experience in soap making, you probably dont want to make your own soap from scratch. You can, though, buy soap melting kits and get your own molds. Basically, you just melt the premade soap, color and scent it as you please, and pour it into the molds. If youre super crafty, you can stamp fancy designs into the almost-hardened soaps.

These are really easy handmade wedding favors to personalize and are fun to give, too. Consider purchasing a monogram stamp personalized for you and your future husband.

You can stamp your monogram into every soap so guests will remember where its from when they use it at home. You can simply wrap individual soaps up in cellophane with a ribbon for gift giving. If you use different scents, label each package so guests can choose their favorite scent.

Bath bombs

These would be particularly wonderful handmade wedding favors for women! Bath bombs arent all that hard to make, but you might need some practice. You can make smaller bombs, wrap them in cellophane, and give them as wedding favors. You can change the colors of your bath bombs to match your wedding colors, and you can even experiment with different scents.

Lip balm

Handmade lip balm is another good option for wedding favors. They can be made with some basic ingredients like beeswax and almond oil. You can get all the ingredients online, and you can also pick up tubes and tubs of different shapes and sizes from online retailers. If you make super small lip balms, it could be fun to make three or four different colors and scents and package all the options into one box or bag for each guest.

Mini jam or marmalade pots

If you have access to fruit trees, you can make your own jam, marmalade, or chutney and present them in small pots or jam jars for your guests.

This is a fun wedding favor that youll want to start on early, though!

You can get little jars online and some have a pretty diamond pattern on the outside and look like little jewels when filled with colorful jams and jellies.

You can personalize these gifts with custom made tags for an extra special touch.

Lavender pouches

This is another easy one to make if you have access to a nice big lavender bush or hedge. If you have or know someone who has lavender plants, you can dry the flowers to make your own lavender pouches.

Cant find enough lavender for all your guests? Add in dried rose petals or other scented flowers for a unique combination. All you need to do is place about a quarter of a cup of dried petals in the center of a round piece of muslin or tulle, gather it up, and tie it with a ribbon.

Pin cushions

If youve got lots of other crafty friends, pin cushions can be fun handmade wedding favors. Create your own pin cushions from felt, and use them as place markers, too. These can be fun because you can make them to match your wedding colors perfectly.

Rice bags

Rice bags are great for easing aches and pains. You can simply create a rectangular cloth bag, fill it with rice, and stick it in the microwave when you need some pain relief or a simple way to relax. Sewing up these rice bags is really easy. If you like to embroider, you could even make them extra special by monogramming them or putting your guests names on them. Plus, if you put some dried herbs in with the rice, it will make the bag smell lovely each time its heated.

These are certainly not the only handmade wedding favors you might use for your wedding. Theyre just some ideas to get you started! Now its up to your creativity to figure out just what favors to use for your wedding.
