Handmade Wedding Invitation With Pink Layers
“These handmade wedding invitations are pretty in pink!”
By using simple paper layering techniques, you can make stunning handmade wedding invitations. Here, I've used scrapbooking paper with a foil print, colour coordinating papers and a pretty organza ribbon. The end result is very delicate, but gorgeous wedding invitation.Scrapbooking paper comes in all sorts of colours, patterns and textures. It's great for giving wedding invitations a striking, individual look whilst ensuring you can easily make your own wedding invitations. Level of ease: Very easy Cost: Around £50 ($90) for 50 invitations
For each card, you’ll need: - Patterned scrapbooking paper to 135mm x 190mm - Purple (or pink) paper cut to 110mm x 165mm - Pink vellum cut to 120mm x 170mm - Patterned scrapbooking paper cut to 35mm x 265mm for the belly band - Pink organza ribbon 5mm wide by 300mm - Roller glue or double sided tape
Before you start! For the text on the vellum insert, I’ve used a special font called ASL Script, which is free for personal use. You’ll need to download it from www.freefonts.com. If you don’t know how to do this, then follow these instructions for adding a font to your computer (for windows users only). If you don’t do this, then you won’t be able to see the text on your computer. You can download the A5 template for this insert here, but you'll need the username and password that you get when you subscribe to the newsletter. You can subscribe below. The insert is an A4 sheet with two inserts on it, created in MS Word. They’re sized slightly smaller than A5, so sit well on or inside an A5 wedding invitation (finished size). You will need to amend the text so that it corresponds to the details of your wedding. Once printed out, you’ll need to cut it to size following the trim lines.
Tips: • Print out the text onto the vellum on a fast or draft setting. It that's not strong enough, then use the medium or standard setting. Bear in mind it will take longer to dry, so make sure you remove each sheet from the printer before the next one comes through, otherwise your text will smudge! • You can easily change the size to 5x7 instead of A5, whichever is easier for you • Try buying an economy or bumper pack of card blanks and envelopes. You can then cut these in half to make the one page card!
