![]() The inspiration for this invite came from some jewellery I saw recently in a local store. It was a pendant for a necklace and I thought it looked really pretty, so I had a go at repeating it with large metallic confetti hearts and some beading wire. It worked a treat. The topper is easy to make and only needs to be attached to the card blank at the end. There’s a fair amount of cutting to be done, so it’s best to make this wedding invitation if you’ve got a paper trimmer, it’ll be much faster than cutting the layers individually. Alternatively, you could get these cut professionally (at an additional cost). The tricky part to this luxury wedding invitation is the layering of the card and attaching the wired heart to the card. It may take a bit of practice, but the end result looks fabulous! Level of ease: Tricky For this luxury wedding invitation you’ll need: Recommended insert: Step-by-step instructions1. To make this luxury wedding invitation, start by cutting your pieces of card to the right size. I’d recommend using a paper trimmer as there’s quite a bit of cutting to do. Alternatively, use a professional copy shop to cut them for you.2. Next print the greeting on the card blank. You can use one of the free blank wedding invitation templates on this site. You can download it below, you just need to sign up to the Wedding Invitation Ideas newsletter to receive the username and password. 3. Now, wrap the beading wire around the silver heart. At various points, thread a bead on the wire and then continue wrapping. Do this until you’ve used the three beads and the heart has been circled with wire approximately seven times. You don’t need to be precise about this as long as you’re happy with the way the wired heart looks. Place the wired heart to one side.4. Next, take the 2.5cm square silver card and wrap the satin ribbon around the centre. Secure at the back of the card with some roller glue. 5. Now, we’re going to attach the heart to the silver square.
6. Take the white hammered card and wrap the organza ribbon around the middle. Secure with some roller glue (or a sticker). 7. Next, attach the mini topper to the hammered card and organza ribbon. The mini topper should sit so that it’s centred inside the organza ribbon and towards the bottom of the top two thirds of the white card. Take a moment to look at the position of the topper carefully. Use some strong clear glue, like UHU to secure the mini topper to the organza ribbon. Make sure you put the glue on the ribbon section at the back of the card as it is a better adhesive surface than the smooth card. 8. Now, you need to attach this to the black card. Place roller glue around the edges of the topper and arrange so that is sits centrally in the black card. 9. Now, arrange the black card so that it sits in centrally in the top two thirds of the blank wedding invitation. Don’t forget for this luxury wedding invitation, I’ve used a wedding invitation greeting printed onto the front of the card blank. It gives a much more professional finish.
