these beach wedding invitations are perfect.
This modern wedding invitation uses a number of different embellishments and papers to create a stunning and stylish invite. It looks complicated, but in fact, this wedding invitation is really very simple and is made up of layers of paper and card.
The use of white and pearlescent papers and accessories make this card look really clean and modern. The addition of the cake and trimmings create the pretty finish.
For this modern wedding invitation you'll need
- Card blank 10.2cm x 15.2cm (4" x 6", pre-folded card blank)
- Black card or paper 9cm x 12cm
- Cream pearlescent card or paper 8.5cm x 11.5cm
- White angel hair 6cm x 9cm

Step-by-step instructions
- First of all, place the pearlescent card in position on the black card. Once you’re happy with the position, secure in place with some roller glue.
- Next, place the angel hair in position on the pearlescent card. Secure in place with some roller glue. Go easy on the roller glue though as you may be able to see it through the thin angel hair.
- For the cake, take the floral fabric edging and cut so it fits the tiers of the die cut cake. Glue the edging to the cake using clear adhesive or a glue roller.
- Then attach some clear adhesive to the back of the sequins with a match stick and place the sequins on the cake inbetween the edging. The cake is complete now.
- Next, secure the cake on to the angel hair. Notice that the cake is actually a little off-centre. There is more space below the cake then there is above it. This ensures that there is room for the greeting, but it also makes the invite look more balanced.
- For the greeting, cut out two small squares of foam adhesive and attach them to the back of the greeting paper. Then attach the greeting to the invitation just above the bottom of the angel hair.
- Finally, take your newly made topper and attach it securely using a glue roller to the card blank. Again, note that the topper is not centred in the invitation. There is more space below the topper then above it.
- For the insert, simple use one of the modern insert templates for A6 cards and secure inside your wedding invitation.
Tip: save on your roller glue by only placing the adhesive on sections on the paper. You don’t need to place glue all around the edge of the paper.
