Family Monogram Wedding Invitation

"This monogram wedding invitation is easily printed at home."

For a stunning monogram wedding invitation on a budget, you can't go wrong with this design. The template can be adapted to suit your wedding and is easily printed out at home. It's perfect for a bride wanting a classic style, but on a tight budget.

Monogram wedding invitation

Using a monogram on your wedding invitations creates a classic look. This particular design can use your family name initial or your future family name initial, whichever you prefer. If your parents are paying for the wedding, then perhaps choose your own family initial, but it you want to look to the future, then your future family name is perfect.

The illustration has been carefully chosen to be formal but pretty with its intricate design. The initial has then be carefully placed in the centre of the motif to create the individual monogram.

This monogram wedding invitation is a free template that comes in MS Word, so you can easily print it out at home or work. I've printed this example out on white card stock for a more classic look. You can however, print it out on any coloured card stock, so feel free to try out different colours - cream or ivory are particularly good.

To finish off this monogram wedding invitation, you could add some luxurious organza or sumptuous satin ribbon, or simply leave it as it is for a more classic look.

What you'll need:

  • Card cut to size
  • Inkjet printer (or use a copy shop)
  • Ribbon (optional)

With this invitation you literally amend the initial in the monogram and wording and print it out on your inkjet printer at home. The template comes in A5 (14.8cm x 21.0cm) or 5 1/2 x 8 inches and there's a matching thank you card too.

I'd recommend printing it out on 'smooth' card as this will give the best finish. Try to use a heavy weight card if possible, ideally the maximum that will go through your printer.

For the cheapest solution, print these on your home computer. If you don't want to use all your ink up, then print out one on good quality paper and get a copy shop to print out or copy the invites on to your chosen card. They'll also be able to trim them to size (if necessary) and give a professional finish (at a cost though).

Warning!

To create this invitation, the main font is Garamond which you'll find on your home computer.

The illustration that makes up the monogram is a dingbat, which behaves like a special font. You'll need to download it in order to see and print the invitation out. The dingbat is called Medieval Dingbats and is of course free for your personal use too.

If you don’t know how to add a font to your computer, then follow these instructions (for Windows users only). Dingbats can be added in exactly the same way as a font.

These wedding invitations have been created in Microsoft Word 97-2003, so you’ll need this package to read and amend the invite.

There's no need for a separate insert with this monogram wedding invitation. All the information is contained in the main body of text, however, you could include maps, details about accommodation and transport in the envelope with the invite too.
