![]() This monogram has been created using a special font and a dingbat illustration, both of which are free. The initials and the illustration have been carefully laid out to create this pretty monogram. The font was chosen for its classical appeal and the floral dingbat illustration adds that sense of femininity. They compliment each other perfectly. This invitation is a free template that comes in MS Word, so you can easily print it out at home or work. I've printed this example out on cream card stock for a more traditional look. You can however, print it out on any coloured card stock, so feel free to try out different colours – bright white is particularly good. To finish off this invitation, you could add some luxurious organza or sumptuous satin ribbon, or simply leave it as it is for a more classic look. Level of ease: Really easy Cost: Around £20 ($30) for 50 invitations What you’ll need: - Card cut to size - Inkjet printer (or use a copy shop) - Ribbon (optional) With this invitation you literally amend the initials and wording and print it out on your inkjet printer at home. The template comes in A5 (14.8cm x 21.0cm) or 5 1/2 x 8 inches and there's a matching thank you card too. I’d recommend printing it out on ‘smooth’ card as this will give the best finish. Try to use a heavy weight card if possible, ideally the maximum that will go through your printer. For the cheapest solution, print these on your home computer. If you don’t want to use all your ink up, then print out one on good quality paper and get a copy shop to print out or copy the invites on to your chosen card. They’ll also be able to trim them to size (if necessary) and give a professional finish (at a cost though). The script font which has been used for the initials is called ALS Script, which you'll need to download. You can download it for FREE from 1001FreeFonts.com. The illustration is a dingbat, which behaves like a special font. Like the font above, you'll need to download it in order to see and print the invitation out. The dingbat is called Flower Ornaments from FontFreak.com and is of course free for your personal use too. If you don’t know how to add a font to your computer, then follow these instructions (for Windows users only). Dingbats can be added in exactly the same way as a font. These wedding invitations have been created in Microsoft Word 97-2003, so you’ll need this package to read and amend the invite. There's no need for a separate insert with these monogram wedding invitations. All the information is contained in the main body of text, however, you could include maps, details about accommodation and transport in the envelope with the invite too.
