Pink Wedding Invitations

"Pink wedding invitations are the most popular coloured invites chosen for weddings"

This pretty pink invitation is simply stunning. It’s also very easy to make yourself. With a vellum wrap and finished off with a ribbon, it really creates a very stylish design.

Pink wedding invitationsLevel of ease: Moderately easy
Cost: About £50 ($90) for 50 invitations

For this pink wedding invitation you’ll need:
• Pink card blank
• Pink patterned vellum
• Pink satin ribbon 45cm (18”)
• Roller glue stick

Recommended insert:
Pink pearlescent vellum paper using a modern insert template.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Take the vellum and cut it to the size of your card blank. Then fold it in half.

2. Place a little bit of glue at the top and bottom of the fold edge. It’s best to place this under where the ribbon will sit so the glue doesn’t show through the vellum. You’ll only need a little bit of glue, so just use a small amount at the top and the bottom.

3. Next take your piece of ribbon. Place the card in the centre of the ribbon and make the bow:

Tie a bow 1- Tie the left side over the right side and hold the knot in the middle with your middle finger on your right hand.

Tie a bow 2- With the left section, create a loop with the satin side of the ribbon up. This will create the right bow. Hold this and the knot beneath with your left fingers.

Tie a bow 3- With your right hand, take the right section of the ribbon. Lift it over bow you’ve just created.

- Before you push it underneath the other loop, twist the satin slightly. This will make sure that when you thread the ribbon under the bow the satin is silky side up.

Tie a bow 4- Pull the two loops to tighten the bow.

- Make the bows and the ends even – to your liking.

Tie a bow 5- Cut the ends of the ribbon with a point to stop them fraying.

4. Secure the ribbon in place with a little spot glue. This is just to stop it moving and make the invitation more secure.

Tip: you could buy a bow instead, but your costs will increase.
