While this is a pretty easy process, it is also the most expensive way of sending out save the date magnets. A simple design without a photo can cost $300 (£200) for just 100 magnets, not including any postage. It's possible to create your own at a fraction of the cost. There are many different way to make your own magnets for saving the date, depending on the final effect you are after. A quick search online for 'magnetic paper' or 'magnetic tape' will direct you to a local shop or a website where you can purchase magnetic tape, stickers or sticky magnetic circles. Simply design your invite on your computer, print it out on a nice thick card stock and apply magnetic tape or circles to the back. For a more formal look you could laminate the cards before applying the tape. You can also buy purpose made fridge magnets that have a peel away sticker on them. Take the sticker off and place your card on for a great looking save the date magnet. This looks fantastic if you make your cards the same size as the magnet. If you are sending save the date postcards then look for small magnetic stick on circles. Just attach them to the corners of your postcard and you have an instant magnetic save the date card. If you're clever with graphic design then consider making your save the date cards with magnetic printer paper. You can buy this paper in sheets and it works with most desktop printers.
