Scrapbook Paper Wedding Invitations

Retro style layered paper wedding invitation
I'm a scrapbook fan and so the idea of layered paper wedding invitations is right up my street. Using some trendy scrapbook paper, I selected my 'wedding colours' and then started to pull together some designs. I settled on this retro feel, blue based invite.
I really like the blue and green together and I'd seen some lovely teal waistcoasts for the groomsmen that match perfectly, so the colour scheme worked out well.
To make these layered paper invites, I simply used a 5x7 inch cream card, then cut the scrapbook paper to 4.5x6.5 inches and stuck it to the cream card with a glue roller.
The wording was done on my home computer and I printed it out onto coloured blue paper that was complementary to the scrapbook paper. The paper was 10x6 cm and so I got 8 to a side of A4. I then glued this to the main part of the invite.
I tried to keep a modern look with a funky font called Cream Puff for our names and then a clean modern font for our main text. I had to search out Cream Puff - it was from Fontspace and free!
The invites were really cheap over all. I made 60 invites in total and the spent the following: Cream card: already had these. I just cut up pre-folded cards from a pack and they came with envelopes. They about £7 per pack for 100. Scrapbook paper: 12x12 sheet. I used 20 sheets. £10. Blue paper: A4 sheet. I used 8 sheets. £1.20. Glue: Used two rolls of Glue Tape: £7.38 Total cost: £25.58
Since it's only cutting and gluing, it didn't take long at all. Overall, it took about 4 hours to make them all.
Best tip: use a paper cutter. They're invaluable for getting paper to exactly the right size. We also used the retro style scrapbook paper for our other stationery.
P.S. We had a fab day!
