Seashell Wedding Invitations

"These seashell wedding invitations are stunning!"

For a beach wedding, these seashell invitations are perfect. They'll give your guests subtle direction of the type of wedding you're having - a sophisticated and stylish beach wedding.

Seashell wedding invitations

I love the seashell illustration and the formal font on this design. It creates the right balance between informal and formal, so ideal for a slightly more elegant beach wedding.

The colours and fonts on these seashell wedding invitations are completely customisable, so if they're not quite right for your beach wedding, feel free to change to match your colours.

This invitation is a free template that comes in MS Word, so you can easily print it out at home or work. I've printed this example out on cream card stock as it matches the colour of the sand. You can however print it out on any coloured card stock, so feel free to try out different colours. Pale blue or white would look great too.

What you'll need:

  • Card cut to size
  • Inkjet printer (or use a copy shop)

With this invitation, all you need to do is change the wording and print it out. It's as simple as that. The template comes in A5 (14.8cm x 21.0cm) or 5 1/2 x 8 inches and there's a matching thank you card too.

I’d recommend printing it out on ‘smooth’ card as this will give the best finish to your invitation. Try to use a heavy weight card if possible, ideally the maximum that will go through your printer.

For the cheapest solution, print these on your home computer. If you don’t want to use all your ink up, then print out one on good quality paper and get a copy shop to print out or copy the invites on to your chosen card. They’ll also be able to trim them to size (if necessary) and give a professional finish (at a cost though).

Warning!

To get a special look, this seashell wedding invitation uses some special fonts. So in order to view the invite on your computer, you'll need to download these.

The main font used for the text is called Bodoni MT and should already be on your computer as it comes free with Microsoft. The names of the bride and groom have been written in Castellar, which should also be on your computer.

The seashell illustration is a dingbat, which behaves like a special font. In order to see this when you download the template, you'll need to download it. The dingbat is called Ocean Iacy Dingbat. It's from Dafont.com and is also free for your personal use as well.

If you don’t know how to add a font to your computer, then follow these instructions (for Windows users only). Dingbats can be added in exactly the same way as a font.

These seashell wedding invitations have been created in Microsoft Word 97-2003, so you’ll need this package to read and amend the invite.

There's no need for a separate insert with these wedding invitations. All the information is contained in the main body of text, however, you could include maps, details about accommodation and transport in the envelope with the invite too.
