Snowflake Wedding Invitations"These snowflake wedding invitations are really sophisticated and pretty."Snowflakes are the perfect emblem for a winter wedding. They represent purity and innocence, passing in time for only a moment - the perfect way to show your transition from daughter to wife. ![]() The invitation is made up from a MS Word template and this example has been printed on smooth white card stock, although you can print it out on any colour you like. The colours and text are completely customisable, so feel free to alter it if you're not keen on the blues. What you'll need:
With this invitation you literally amend the wording and print it out on your inkjet printer at home. The template comes in A5 (14.8cm x 21.0cm) or 5 1/2 x 8 inches and there's a matching thank you card too. I’d recommend printing out on ‘smooth’ card as this will give the best finish. Try to use a heavy weight card if possible, ideally the maximum that will go through your printer. For the cheapest solution, print these on your home computer. If you don’t want to use all your ink up, then print out one on good quality paper and get a copy shop to print out or copy the invites on to your chosen card. They’ll also be able to trim them to size (if necessary) and give a professional finish (at a cost though). Warning! To create this invitation, I've used some special fonts. The text font is Gabrielle which is not available on your home computer. So, to edit the text (and see it when you open the document), you'll need to download it. You can download it for FREE from Dafont.com. The snowflake illustration is a dingbat, which behaves like a special font. You'll also need to download it in order to see and print the invitation out. The dingbat is called WW Flakes and is of course free for your personal use too. If you don’t know how to add a font to your computer, then follow these instructions (for Windows users only). Dingbats can be added in exactly the same way as a font. These wedding invitations have been created in Microsoft Word 97-2003, so you’ll need this package to read and amend the invite. There's no need for a separate insert with this snowflake wedding invitation. All the information is contained in the main body of text, however, you could include maps, details about accommodation and transport in the envelope with the invite too. Customise your snowflake wedding invitationsThese wedding invitations are easily customisable too. Add a bit of glitter to the illustration, a ribbon or some cord to give it more texture and depth. Some brides also like to add a layer of vellum over the top which acts as a lift up flap. This is then secured with ribbon, a brad or cord. So why not add your personal touch?
