I am looking to make my own unique wedding invitations, place cards and other wedding stationery.
I want them to look beautiful and elegant but I also want them to be very personal and unique to our wedding. Have you got any ideas?
I have 18 months until the big day so lots of time to spend making them..

Answer:
There are plenty of different ways to make your wedding invitations personal and unique to you.

Some are easier than others, but all are do-able!

Here's some inspiration on how you can make them personal to you:

-Use an interesting and different font to make your wedding invitations stand out. Choose a font from a library like fontspace.com that matches your personality to make your invitations unique.

- Go with bold colours. Choose contrasting colours to make your wedding invitations remembered. Block colours in complementary colours are striking and fun. For an example that uses contrasting colours our fall wedding invitation.

- Layer it up. Use layers to create unique wedding invitations. By using layers of paper, you can make an interesting and tactile invitation that will be enjoyed by your guests. For a great layered paper example, see this inexpensive layered wedding invitation.

- Use scrapbook paper to make your wedding invitations unique. There are lots of different scrapbook papers out there that make great backgrounds for unique wedding invitations. Think about using one of these.

- Create an icon or illustration of something that's personal only to you, such as a portrait of the two of you, a photograph or something that you enjoy doing together. Then use this as the main image on your wedding stationery.

- Create a monogram of your initials together. You can either make one yourself or commission a designer to do one for you. There are lots of monogram based invitations available here (for free) and they're all customisable to your initials:
Family monogram wedding invitations
Classic monogram wedding invitations
Floral monogram wedding invitations
Medieval monogram wedding invitations

Whichever of the above you choose, you can incorporate the design on all your wedding stationery, whether it's a colour route you've chosen or a monogram route you've chosen.

I hope that this helps you with the design for your unique stationery.
