Winter Wedding Invitation
"A simple, but classy winter wedding invitation using layers of paper and vellum"
The greys, silver and glitter in this wedding invitation really shimmer together. Using layers of paper, finished off with a silver organza ribbon, this design is simple, yet classy and contemporary.
For this modern wedding invitation you’ll need
- Small tall card blank 8cm x 19.7cm
- Silver damask sheet of wrapping paper
- Glitter vellum paper 5.5cm x 19.7cm
- Organza ribbon 45cm
- Roller glue stick
Recommended insert:
Pearlescent vellum paper using a modern insert template.
Step-by-step instructions
- First of all, cut the wrapping paper to 8cm by 19.7cm. Use the roller glue to secure it in place. Since the paper needs to sit flush to your winter wedding invitation, you'll need to use roller glue around all the edges.
- Next, the vellum. Cut the glitter vellum to 5.5cm by 19.7cm. Line it up with the fold edge of the card. Only secure this edge to the card. This will leave the other edges free.
- Along the fold edge of the card, place roller glue periodically. This is to secure the ribbon.
- Cut your ribbon to length and place it on the fold edge of the card. The ribbon should overlap inside the card, this will enable you to make a neat finish.
- Secure the two overlapping ends of the ribbon with some roller glue.
Tip: Singe the ends of the ribbon with a match or lighter it will prevent the ends fraying and give a neater finish.
